ASPEN Code for CLC Simulations

This portion of the page provides the ASPEN files that were used to run the simulations discussed in the 2014 CLC topical report. Details about these simulations can also be found in the publication.

The following two ASPEN files are for two cases, both based on Wyoming Powder River Basin coal and a feed rate of 100 kg/hr. Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU) combustion are represented by two circulating fluidized beds - one air reactor and one fuel reactor. The CLC case is for 60% Fe2O3 supported on Al2O3. Conversions were taken from the literature. For CLOU, 40% CuO on ZrO2 was used, and conversions were from a recent analysis of the Chalmer's researchers test results. The files require ASPEN 8.0 or above.
